The Tiered Natural Alabaster Chandelier stacks cut panels of natural alabaster in descending rings on a slim metal frame. Each panel is cut from quarried stone, so the veining running through your fixture belongs to that block and no other.

Light passes through the stone rather than off it — no bright spot anywhere, just a soft amber wash that deepens where a panel runs thicker. The staggered tiers keep that depth from directly below as well as from across the room.

Sizing rule: over a table, the fixture should span roughly half to two-thirds the width of the surface below — a 39.4″ linear over a 60″ table, a ∅23.6″ round over a 48″ round table. In an open room without a table beneath it, size by ceiling height instead: the taller versions need the vertical space or they read cramped. Every size is hardwired and heavy — confirm the ceiling box is rated for the weight before ordering.

Switched off, what you see is the architecture: descending rings of pale stone against a gold frame, each panel casting a shadow on the one below. Daylight catches the cut edges, so the fixture holds a dining room at noon rather than waiting for dark.

Every Panel Becomes a Light

Switched on, the stone stops being a shade and becomes the source. Light travels through each panel and comes out amber, deepening where the cut runs thicker — and the tiers layer those glows into a depth a single shade cannot produce.

Why alabaster does this: light passes through the stone rather than reflecting off it, so the panel becomes the light source instead of hiding one. Thickness varies naturally across a cut piece, which is why the glow deepens in some places and lifts in others — and why no two fixtures light up quite the same. Use warm white around 2700K: cool white at 4000K or above turns alabaster grey rather than gold.

Frame First, Stone Last

The metal frame goes up empty and gets wired and levelled first; the alabaster panels are set into it by hand afterwards. That order is what keeps the stone off a ladder — and it is why this is a two-person job.

The most common place for this fixture, and the one where the tiers do the most work — seated diners look up into the stone rather than at a bulb. Centre it on the table, not on the room.

Keep 7 ft clearance at the lowest point

 

Down an Open Stairwell

Position it in the well rather than over the treads, so nobody passes beneath it on the stairs — and so the stone is seen edge-on from the flight above.

Scaffolding or a lift is usually needed

Before you install: Hardwired, for indoor dry locations. Confirm the ceiling junction box is fixture-rated and fixed to a joist or brace — not held by drywall alone. Work with two people: one supports the frame at height while the other wires and fastens it. Set the stone panels only once the frame is secure and level, handling each by its metal fitting rather than the stone. We recommend a licensed electrician in accordance with local codes.

One thing owners mention: the suspension cord can arrive with slight kinks from packing. Leave the fixture hanging and the weight of the stone straightens it within a day — no need to pull or heat it.

Round or linear — which should I choose?
Choose by the shape of the surface below. Round (four diameters, 17.7″ to 39.4″) suits a round table, an entry, a stairwell or anything you walk beneath. Linear (three lengths, 31.5″ to 47.2″) is built for a rectangular table or a kitchen island, where a round fixture leaves the ends dark. Then size it so the fixture spans roughly half to two-thirds the width of what is under it.
How heavy is it, and will my ceiling box take it?
From 22 lb (10 kg), rising with size — this is real stone, not moulded resin. Use a fixture-rated ceiling box fixed to a joist or a brace, never one held by drywall alone. A standard US fixture box is rated to 50 lb, which covers the smaller sizes comfortably. Email us with the size you are considering and we will confirm its exact weight before you order.
Is the stone real alabaster?
Yes — natural alabaster, cut and polished from solid stone. That is why the veining runs differently through every panel and why the glow varies with the thickness of each cut. A moulded resin panel repeats the same pattern on every unit; stone cannot. The weight is the easiest way to tell the two apart.
Which bulbs does it take, and are they included?
It takes E14 bulbs, and bulbs are not included. Use warm white around 2700K — that is what our photography uses and what turns the stone gold. Cool white at 4000K or above makes alabaster look grey and flat, which is the single most common reason a stone fixture disappoints once it is up.
Can it be dimmed?
Yes, if you fit dimmable E14 bulbs and pair them with a compatible wall dimmer. The fixture uses standard sockets with no built-in driver, so dimming depends entirely on the bulbs and switch you choose. Check the packaging says dimmable before you buy — alabaster at a low level is where the material is at its best.
Will it look like the photographs?
Close, but not identical. Every panel is cut from quarried stone, so the drift of cloudy white through your fixture belongs to that block alone. The one that arrives will differ from the one photographed — that variation is the material doing what natural material does, and it is the reason we can call it stone rather than resin.
How is it installed?
It is hardwired to a ceiling junction box, and it is a two-person job: the metal frame goes up empty and gets wired and levelled first, then the stone panels are set into it by hand. We recommend a licensed electrician in accordance with local codes, and scaffolding or a lift for stairwell and double-height installations. Note that installed items cannot be returned, so confirm your size and clearances before the fixture goes up.
The cord arrived with kinks in it — is that a fault?
No. Suspension cords pick up slight bends from packing. Leave the fixture hanging and the weight of the stone straightens the cord within a day. Do not pull it taut or apply heat to speed it up.
How do I clean it?
Dust with a dry, soft cloth only. Alabaster is porous and softer than glass — a fingernail can mark it — so avoid damp cloths, glass cleaner, vinegar and anything abrasive. Let the bulbs cool first, and support each panel by its metal fitting rather than the stone. Keep the fixture to dry indoor spaces: it is rated IP20 and steam or cooking grease will mark the stone permanently.
